Training/Triathlon get-together: 3:30, Saturday, May 24, at the home of Chris and Heather Pierce. All are welcome to the training sesson and barbeque at 1465 Lake James Dr. VA Beach. This will be a great opportunity to train, to meet other participants, and to enjoy the sunset over the lake. The lake is warm enough for swimming but too deep to touch. Please bring yourself, your friend/family, a side-dish for hamburgers and hot-dogs, and your favorite post-swimming beverage. Please RSVP if possible to Jesse_blackwood@hotmail.com.

How can I help?

There are many ways to help the carcinoid community. Although neuroendocrine tumors are responsible for approximately three percent of cancer related deaths they are often misdiagnosed until it is too late for effective treatment.

1. You may help prevent this simply by sharing our story of commitment and support with your friends and neighbours.

2. You can make a donation of whatever amount you are capable. It is only by working together that we will beat cancer. Your donation will help to identify the gene responsible for cancer. For more information, click here.

3. You can sign up for an event in your own area or sign up with us for our Tri For Life Triathlon.

What effect will I have?

By working together we will spread awareness and save lives. We are also working to raise the funds necessary for better treatments and ultimately a cure. Neuroendocrine/carcinoid researchers are working to identify the gene responsible for the growth of neuroendocrine tumors. Because NETS are such a slow growing cancer an identification of this gene might help to curb unmitigated growth in other cancers.
